Here it is finally, my long overdue review of Silent Hunter IV: Wolves Of The Pacific, the latest incarnation of what is arguably the best series of WWII submarine warfare simulator. Unlike Silent Hunter II and III, Silent hunter IV goes back to the roots of the series, the war in the Pacific.

So get on board seaman and read the review. You might even learn one or two things doing so.

Bobdog come back on the review front with a take on the adventure game Still Life by Mircroids. Still Life is all about an investigation on a serial killer case by a a young FBI agent, Victoria McPherson, grand daughter of Gus McPherson, a character that some of you may remember from the game Post Mortem.

But before giving out too much, I prefer to let you read bobdog's review right there.

The newly formed Polish developer Gingerbread Studios announced  with a whole lot of the usual superlatives (you know, "visceral", "tense", "enthralling", "masterly" and other "tactical stealth" -- if only developers and publishers could realize that there is no point in using words that have been used several thousands times before; just cut the speech and deliver the goods, period) their upcoming first title named The Protector. This will apparently be a first/third person shooter -- or so they say. They also released a bunch of screens as a demonstration of what this can be all about.

Remember these times where all you had to do was to eat and not be eaten? Probably not although nothing has changed since the very beginning of the big life game, social concerns just made things more complicated. In anticipation of the release in early June of their "creatures editor", the folks from Maxis released a new video and some screens showing the first gameplay phase of their upcoming life simulation title Spore, the "cell phase".

General News

So here you go lucky dogs, publisher Ubisoft ported to Valve Steam another series of their games in the rank of them one may find Beyond Good & Evil, Brothers In Arms - Road to Hill 30, both Blazing Angels games, Rainbow Six: Lockdown, Pacific Fighters or Cold Fear. Note that if you want to find these games on Steam and that you're not in North America, you will find squat. In fact, you'll not even find Ubisoft as being a publisher on Steam. Despite (or most probably because) the fact that Ubisoft is a European publisher (France based), the guys exhibit no urge to extend the Steam goodness to the rest of the world. Their relation to Steam officially began in early April and yet... you still have to find any of their games on Steam "overseas".
