As we are a few days away from the launch date for Mass Effect 2, Bioware unveils the Cerberus Network (no link since the thing is for customers only), a site that will be reserved to original purchasers of the game, features being unlocked by a "one use" activation code that will be included with all the game copies whether they are standard or collector. The Cerberus Network will allow legit customers to have access to additional content at "no extra charge" said Bioware officials and that apparently right from day one (those who will buy a used copy will be able to access Cerberus too but only after having bought a new activation code; take the money where it is is always a philosophy, maybe not the brightest but still...).

Doc Brown came with a review for Left 4 Dead published and developed by Valve after their acquisition of Turtle Rock studio in January 2008. For those not familiar with the concept, although everyone should have heard of it by now, Left 4 Dead is a survival horror game focused on cooperative gameplay.
Anyway, you'll no doubt learn more about it in Doc's Left 4 Dead review so feel free to read it. It is there for that after all.

You wanted it, you got it. For his big comeback to reviewing stuff in his own special way, Silver Sorrow takes a shot (more than one in fact... a lot... and then some more) at Mirror's Edge, the frantic game from DICE and Electronic Arts that has your character jumping around on buildings in a monkey-like fashion that... Well, I'll let you read the review itself as there's no way I could sum up that in one sentence. I gathered that it was an painful enough experience though. Usually Silver hate monkeys (some traumatic experience he had with some monkeys in a nearly abandoned ship governed by a lady named Shodan...) but I guess he doesn't like behaving like one either. Well, that's a thing I can understand, I would hate that too... but I love monkeys... hell, I'm one of them after all.
Er... Yeah so back to the topic. Go read the Mirror's Edge review and let me alone with my monkey fetish.

That's right. After 5 years of development, Broken Glass Studio and The Dark Mod team have released the public beta of their total conversion of the Doom 3 engine to adapt it to the tough requirements of a stealthy gameplay based on the steampunk universe of Thief. Until now the public had to play alpha versions of The Dark Mod. The latest demo release a year ago was already of beta quality in my opinion so I expect The Dark Mod 1.0 release to be pretty close to the final version although it's still considered as beta by the developing team.

For the second year, the Extra Life marathon is taking place this month. The Extra Life marathon is a gathering of gamers all around the world who'll play on October 17 for 24 hours straight to raise funds for pediatric cancer research and treatment. All the funds raised go to the Texas Children's Hospital . Over $100,000 were raised during last year event and of course we expect more this time around.
Like last year, Marshall AKA "Little Bugger" from our hosted site Marshal's Machinima is participating in the event and you can reach his donation page right there. Donations are accepted until next weekend so this if you want to help the research and treatment for the kids, now is your chance.
