Hey it has been some months since the last time we talked about Legendary - The Box (which, as it is, is mainly called Legendary in the official press releases now). So as a treat today we have the latest PC screens available and the official game trailer that was just released yesterday.
As a reminder, the story of Legendary - The Box is built around Pandora's Box (you know the first woman in the Greek mythology -- the equivalent of the biblical Eve -- who opened a jar, which through the ages became a box, and doing so unleashed all the bad things that plagued the humanity since then: greed, vanity, slander, envy, pining. The only thing that remained in the box was hope). This legend was slightly altered through centuries. Back at the origin of it, Pandora was a poisonous "evil down on the Earth" that Zeus ordered to be created and sent to the men in order to punish them because Prometheus stole the sacred fire. As soon as Prometheus' brother, Epimetheus, accepted the gift from the gods, Pandora quickly opened her jar to release all the evils of mankind. Of course, in the tale told by the developer Spark Unlimited for their upcoming first-person shooter, Pandora is no more, only the box remains. A box that the main character (an art thief answering the name of Charles Deckard) is duped into stealing from a museum. When he opens the box (because all humans are curious, as soon as they see a box closed, they want to know what's inside) he unleashes not all the evils of mankind (that part was already done, no need to run it again) but the worst nightmarish creatures from the Greek mythology. Care to know what gives? So look at the new official trailer for Legendary - The Box below. Developed by Spark Unlimited and publish by Gamecock Media (and Atari for PAL territory -- consoles) Legendary - The Box should be released during Summer 2008. The official site is right there.
