A few days after the announcement by Valve that they acquired Turtle Rock Studios and consequently their in-production title Left 4 Dead comes a new announcement that the said title is delayed until Summer 2008. Well knowing Valve that kind of announcement comes with no real surprise. After all each delay toward this Fall gets us closer to the Half-Life 10th Anniversary. Anyone feels like a super-size "Golden Box" coming? I know I do (what are saying I'm bad-mouthing? No I'm not! Not a lot anyway...) More seriously, seeing the available screens, it's clear that Left 4 Dead is not ready for prime-time and that the original Spring release date was far too optimistic. We all know Valve: they deliver the goods, but it takes them ages to do so and they intend to apply this rule to any game falling under their control which is not a bad practice all in all as far as quality is concerned.
