Yep, that's indeed very official, 2K Games has signed an agreement with Universal Pictures to turn BioShock into a flick. Why nobody did  that with System Shock 2 which had more depth storyline wise? Who knows?

Sometimes when you're confronted to a new game concept you just go: "WOW!", not because the concept is plain original (and in the case of Mirror's Edge it is) but because the company behind the game is not particularly known to promote original ideas and go off-roads. Electronic Arts is usually more of the "we take the same successful concept/franchise and hammer it to death" kind of company. However, with Mirror's Edge developed by their subdivision EA Digital Illusion CE, they are definitely up to something fresh and new which for once is welcomed.

It has been a long time we didn't see an original concept for a FPS, gameplay and story wise. Darkest Of Days actually being developed by 8Monkey Labs with Phantom EFX as publisher might be this kind of gem nobody truly expect but may be found occasionally on the road. I discovered it myself this week-end when they announced a revamping of their official website. So what is Darkest Of Days all about? It's difficult to say in a few words, but I will try. Fans of Historical warfare (you know who you are) you might be in for a treat.

One video out of two should I say since the second one which features the drivable EPA (the big walking armor that is the big brother of the thing you probably remember from F.E.A.R.) that was passed to the press was corrupted beyond repair. So we're just left with one video to show Project Origin Environments along with some screens.

A curious marketing strategy too. Following a press release issued last Friday by Electronic Arts, it appears that Spore, the life simulation from Maxis will be probably the first game to have not only a demo but a creation kit released far before the launching date for the full game.

Demiurge Studios was a little slow coming with images of their upcoming third person Action/Adventure PC title (and previously console hit) Mass Effect. They decided to correct this with the release of the series of screens below. Meanwhile Mass Effect is always scheduled for May 27th in North America and June 6th in Europe (which is historically the only Day of the year allowing for the release of things in Europe with some chance of success... Just kidding).

Announced during Summer 2007, THEY is one of those titles that have been overly secretive with no news and not even a screen released since then. Today, this is changing big time since the developer Metropolis software decided to strike pretty hard on the press front. So they release no less than 21 screens and a huge FAQ to shed some light on their upcoming "mystery" FPS.
