I have no idea what the acquisition of id by Bethesda Softworks' parent company will mean to humanity as a whole, but I find the following quote somewhat reassuring...which is why they say it.

id Software will continue to operate as a studio under the direction of its founder, John Carmack. No changes will be made in the operations of id Software in the development of its games. All the principals at id Software have signed long-term employment contracts, assuring they will continue in their roles developing games at the studio.


...now, nobody panic. There will be NO Wood Elves in Doom 4. But I do hear that The Elder Scrolls V will feature rideable Cacodemons.

Okay, not really. Would be cool, though... (The first DLC? Cacodemon Armor, of course...)

Furthermore:

Never mind what he has to say, the lucky son of a...he's married to Lynda Carter. I'm just bitter, is all.
