Hey, a little bird told me (bird or not it was difficult to miss anyway) that today is the North American release date of Bioware new title Dragon Age 2. So guess what... In worldwide exclusivity we offer you The Foxhole review (genuinely crafted by Silver "The madman" Sorrow with little crunchy bits of me -- and boy, did that hurt) of... TADA... Dragon Age: Origins. Yeah, we're funny that way. Sorry but the Dragon Age 2 review will have to wait for us to actually play (or more likely abuse) the game.

Plus a lot of you have yet to play the first Dragon Age so better to know what to expect, right?

Don't wait any longer and go read the Dragon Age: Origins review (while we go play Dragon Age 2, hopefully the review for this one won't take as long).

And here we go for another set of weekly news as:

The Witcher Geralt toured the countryside in video, Duke Nukem seek a resolution to a long standing issue, Ubisoft doesn't want to choose between ATI and NVidia... they love both, Activision lost some weight but wants to eat more and Bethesda published (finally) the first screenshots for The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.

Yeah, we are a few weeks away from the release of the second opus The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and still we review the first game. Why now? Well because it's as good a time as any, The Director's Cut edition (basically the uncensored version of the game) was made available in North America only a few months ago and... why not? To put it quite frankly, this game is a little gem of RPG gaming that aged rather well. I had as much blast replaying it to finish the review during the past month as I had when I first played it a long time ago. Furthermore, if you intend to play The Witcher 2 and still have to play the first The Witcher, it would be a shame to not go for it waiting for the upcoming sequel.

So go read our review of The Witcher and see what you can expect.

That's right. After 5 years of development, Broken Glass Studio and The Dark Mod team have released the public beta of their total conversion of the Doom 3 engine to adapt it to the tough requirements of a stealthy gameplay based on the steampunk universe of Thief. Until now the public had to play alpha versions of The Dark Mod. The latest demo release a year ago was already of beta quality in my opinion so I expect The Dark Mod 1.0 release to be pretty close to the final version although it's still considered as beta by the developing team.

A curious marketing strategy too. Following a press release issued last Friday by Electronic Arts, it appears that Spore, the life simulation from Maxis will be probably the first game to have not only a demo but a creation kit released far before the launching date for the full game.
